Sweet Honey

A sweet treat: jam of Sweetgreen with figs and almonds

Number of jars:  
Four jars of 200 ml

Preparation time:
35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 500 g fresh figs
  • 500 g Sweetgreen pepper
  • one half lemon
  • 2 tbs honey
  • 200 g cane sugar
  • 25 almonds, halved
  • 1 tbs Grand Marnier

Finely dice the figs. Peel the Sweetgreen pepper and finely dice the flesh. Grate rind of lemon half, then juice. Place all ingredients on the stove and simmer for approximately 25 minutes. Do the jelly test: after approximately 25 minutes, drizzle a few drops on a plate. The drops should firm up lightly within two minutes. If not, cook on the stove for three more minutes and try again. When the jam is ready, add almonds and pour into four small preserve jars. Close lids immediately!
